The same standard. Whatever the scale.

From a single residence to a commercial venue or industrial facility, the engineering discipline does not change. We do the electrical work properly, then layer the smart controls on top. Sized to the brief. Never oversold.

Residential Automation

MCE Electrical designs and installs KNX automation for luxury homes, holiday houses and architecturally designed residences across Western Australia. We work alongside homeowners, architects and builders from the earliest stages, integrating automation into the build so it is part of the architecture, not bolted on after.

Commercial Automation

KNX automation and building controls for wineries, cellar doors, boutique hotels, restaurants, bars, retail and offices. Systems designed to reduce operating costs, improve comfort, and give you centralised control over lighting, climate, audio and security across the whole venue.

Industrial Automation

Electrical engineering and building management for workshops, warehouses, production facilities and distribution centres. We handle the core infrastructure, switchboards, sub-mains and power distribution, then layer monitoring and control systems on top for full visibility over how your facility operates.

Why KNX, and not
the others.

Most automation systems are proprietary — owned by a single brand, locked to
a single app, supported only as long as that brand stays in business. KNX is
different. It is the worldwide ISO standard for building control: open, multi-
vendor, and supported by 500+ manufacturers across the globe.

i.

Open by definition

KNX is the only ISO-certified worldwide standard for home and building control, supported by more than 500 manufacturers across 190 countries. You are never locked to one brand.

ii.

Future-proof, by design

Add a new keypad in twenty years, from any KNX vendor, and it will speak the same language as the device installed today. No forced upgrades. Ever.

iii.

No single failure point

A KNX bus is decentralised. Lose one component and the rest of the home keeps running. Closed systems route everything through one processor. When it fails, the home goes dark.

SIDE BY SIDE

Six capabilities. Six wins for KNX.

One system. Six layers. The whole household.

A KNX installation is not a collection of products, it is a single language spoken by every system in the house. Through KNX and a curated set of gateways, we bring every facet of your home or building under a single intuitive interface. A seamless experience.

Lighting

Dimming, scenes, and colour tuning that adjusts throughout the day, across every fitting.

Climate

Multi-zone control with anticipatory presence and weather logic.

Sound

Music that follows you through the house or stays in one room. Your call, zone by zone, from a wall panel or your phone.

Remote Access

Full local control with secure remote access from anywhere.

Energy

Solar, battery, EV, and load monitoring with smart prioritisation.

Security

Alarms, access, CCTV and door intercom — unified on one HMI.

Blinds & Louvres

Shading, sun-tracking and privacy choreographed automatically.

Intercom

Door entry and video intercom that follows you around the home.

Four stages. Engineered
from start to finish.

01

Conversation

We meet with you, your architect, your builder. We listen for what the home is meant to feel like, not just the features it should have. If it is a good fit, we move forward.

02

Specification

Cable schedules, switch positions, panel layouts and a bus topology, all drawn up so every trade is working from the same plan. You receive a fixed-scope document the builder can price and build to.

03

Installation

Cabling and rough-in coordinated with the builder. Switchboards built, labelled and installed. The same person who designed the system is the one wiring it in.

04

Commissioning

Every device named, every scene tuned, every switch tested. We walk you through the system, hand over full documentation, and make sure the home already knows how to run before we leave.

An honest conversation, by email.

Tell us about the home, the building, or the brief. Attach plans, mood images, anything you have.
